Privacy

Last updated 23 September 2026

XChat collects the data it needs to run your account and your characters. It does not sell data or run advertising trackers.

Your account

Signing in uses Discord. We receive your Discord account id, username, profile image and email address. Characters, wardrobe and progress are stored against that account. We also record the IP address and app or browser used for each sign-in.

Speech

When your character speaks, the text you write is turned into audio by our own GPU servers or third-party speech providers.

Photos

Photos you take in XChat are stored with our storage provider and linked to your character.

Messages and reports

Messages you send in XChat chats are stored so they appear in chat history. Reports you file, and reports about you, are kept so we can act on them.

Patreon

If you support XChat on Patreon, we match your Patreon email address to your XChat account to grant your rewards.

The website

xchat2.com uses analytics services for aggregate traffic measurement and an error-reporting service that also records a replay of a sample of visits, and of visits where an error occurs. These set identifiers in your browser.

How long we keep it

Your account data, characters, messages, photos and sign-in records are kept until your account is deleted.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your data, a correction, or deletion of your account and everything attached to it. Email [email protected] or ask on Discord. If you are in the EU or UK, you can also complain to your data protection authority.

Under 18

XChat is for people 18 or older. We delete any account we learn belongs to someone younger.
