Account Security: How Login Works

XChat uses Discord OAuth for account creation and login. This means you do not create a separate XChat-specific password. Instead, you authorize XChat to verify your identity through Discord, and Discord handles the authentication.

What this means practically: XChat's servers never receive or store a password you created for XChat. The credential that secures your account is your Discord account credential, managed by Discord. XChat has moderation. Harassment, targeted behavior, and violations of community rules can be reported. The primary reporting channel is Discord, where the XChat team is reachable.

No microphone is required. You type, and your character speaks with its own voice, so you never reveal yours. This is a meaningful privacy benefit for users who want to keep their participation private.

Paired interactions need the other player to accept, or a relationship you both chose. Either of you can end one at any time.

Is XChat Related to 3DXChat?
